Day without coffee #8

UG.

(I was a very naughty girl and drank a glass of some lovely Spanish wine.)

(Not that the wine makes up for the coffee, though. I mean, SERIOUSLY.)

(Good news—I woke up anxiety stricken, so that was a decent caffeine substitute.)

(I think I might curl up in a ball on Satruday.)

(If I didn’t have to do school and work.)

So, um, cheers!

Day without coffee #7

Had coffee yesterday. Just a few tiny, freaking sips!

Went to doctor.

Yup, UTI is back.

So, I suppose I will endure my sex-less, sugar-less, coffee-less and alcohol-less existence stoically. This apparently is my penance.

As that cranberry juice! I mean, seriously—$8 for a pure cranberry juice? And, it tastes…like a more pure version of what I imagine motor oil would taste like. Except really tart.

Although, watching David sneak a sip when he thought I wasn’t watching almost made this whole thing worth it.

Day without coffee: # 5

Due to a very scary kidney infection I got last week, I’ve given coffee.

For the time being, I have no doubt. I have little illusions about the amount of self control I have when it comes to perfect, fresh ground, french pressed coffee with just a little bit of organic cream…..

Mmmhmm.

There are a few things in life that I either have to entirely avoid or just know that my inhibitions are simply not there. Cigarettes? Eh, I have one if I’m drinking.

But when it comes to coffee and fluffy television I am powerless to resist.

So I avoid the latter and completely indulge in coffee.

Wow, this blog post is really not helping my coffee cravings. I had planned on writing a funny little montage of how I tried to make tea this morning and didn’t turn the burner on and was so groggy that I actually thought that I had made the tea already and was waiting for it to steep because I couldn’t remember what had happened.

I mean, I enjoy tea. Tea is yummy and comforting and has all sorts of pretty accessories. Enameled tea kettles, flirty, delicate cups and saucers, thousands of gorgeous pots. With coffee the best you’re going to get is a Bodum press, which, while nice looking, has nothing on an miniature Asian tea set made in the shape of lotus leaves.

So—Austin has all of these reasons for claiming to be this awesome city.

Large collection of hippies. Barton Springs. The whole live music scene. Self proclaimed enviromental visionary city. How fit everyone is. Urban creeks. Etc.

But you know what has impressed everyone who’s come to visit?

That all of the coffeeshops serve beer and wine. (more…)

First coffee in three days

So today was a day of high moments.

Hmm.

That looks funny.

What I mean to say is that, in addition to “No, I’m not smoking at work”, today has been filled with a couple of lovely happy “YAYAYAY” moments.
